What is Pactor?

PACTOR™ (lat.: the mediator) is a very modern ARQ long distance teletype communications mode and was developed by Hans Peter Helfert (DL6MAA) and Ulrich Strate (DF4KV).

PACTOR™ was developed, in order to meet the inadequacies of AMTOR/SITOR and Packet Radio on short wave.

Today PACTOR™ has progressed from a purely amateur radio mode of operation to a standard technique for world-wide professional data communication on short wave.
